Lake Level

Paul Myers, Lake Level Committee

We have had a very rainy July! There haven't been many days that were total washouts but when it has rained, it poured. Board member Tim Goserud has reported that Turtle Lake has received 7.1 inches of rain since June 24th and 4.2 inches of that came in one week from July 9th - 16th! The long-term forecast predicts a drier period coming up.

The rain did raise the lake level from 1351.48 to 1351.54 ft at last reading but our management of the beaver dams has helped to greatly minimize the impact. We will keep at it and issue an update in the near future.

Also, for those of you who have volunteered to help manage the dams with us, the recent lack of beaver activity has limited the immediate need for help but stay tuned!
